Yuni has been in business for herself for four years, after working as the Bali agent for a Madrid clothing and shoe company. She really wanted to branch out and become independent, and she felt sandals and dresses would be good products to sell since they were popular and easily adaptable to new fashions. Yuni has been to Australia, Singapore and Thailand on business and for pleasure. She has an adorable 6-yr. old daughter named Jessica, who she named her shop after, and who she hopes will one day take over the business. Yuni acknowledges that the retail business can be stressful, but enjoys the challenges of learning what’s in fashion, and adapting her communication style to the different needs of her foreign buyers and Balinese staff and suppliers. She likes the ever-changing nature of the business, and all the people she meets. Yuni’s favorite hobby is… shopping, so even when she’s not working, she’s still learning about what kinds of items are out there. Yuni’s goals for the future are to send her daughter Jessica to the USA to study, and to open an orphanage to help parentless Balinese children.
